Yesterday I went to a volunteer training for an outdoor recreation group for people with disabilities. They took us cross country skiing. Big day for me, because the only time I’ve ever been on snow skis was cross country skiing around my yard for a few minutes when I was little. I felt like I was doing the “Uh-Too-Dee-Ta” song (“knees together, feet apart, toes in, butt out!”). I wasn’t picking up the downhill part very well. It was cool to see people having snow much fun and exercise on a snow-covered paved canyon road. I saw girls out running in regular tennis shoes, people pulling kid bike trailer things on skis, a rott and pit pulling two people in a sled, an old man hike up pulling a toboggan and then slide down with a little girl, a guy skiing with a baby dressed up in a teddy bear suit and strapped to his chest, and another guy skiing while carrying his older little girl with her short skis on. And lots of cute dogs of various breeds. I think I better practice skiing before I volunteer with skiing so I’m not a hazard. This first week has been a piling of assignments on. A lot are due at the end of the semester, so I need to get working on those.
Hey Anna, How's it going? I just ran across your guys blog and wanted to say hi. I hope all is going well. Tell McKay hi for me. Oh and I totally agree with you. I much rather prefer summer over winter.
