1-2.5 mo.

Warning: I'm sure this is overly detailed/boring for people who aren't this kid's grandparent or Aunt. Sorry to all others. We're a bit obsessed.

At his appointment at 9 weeks, he was 13 lb 9.8 oz (84th percentile), and 23.5 inches long (77th percentile).

He's gotten really good at looking at us and following us with his eyes, though sometimes something random like a wall or light is still more interesting to him. He enjoys looking in mirrors, including his flexible one that gives a very distorted reflection. He makes really cute sounds (sometimes they totally sound like a word), has just started to stick his lower lip out and frown when he cries, and we haven't gotten a picture of it, but for a long time he has made a little "O" shape with his mouth that is really cute.  His eyelashes have gotten really long, but he's gotten pretty bald.
He enjoys baths (thankfully, or it would be trickier). After naps he often lays there and stretches for like 5 minutes.
He slept through the night twice in a row, but it's been a while...

Since he's our only kid, I can say he is the cutest kid I've ever seen, and my favorite kid (sorry to our incredibly cute nieces and nephews).

We got to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with a few other families from the ward.  We watched Elf and I was struck by how I’m probably like Buddy to McKay when Buddy said something like “First we’ll make snow angels for two hours, then we’ll go ice skating, then we’ll eat a whole batch of Tollhouse cookie dough as fast as we can, and maybe we’ll even hold hands and snuggle!"

Paul likes to help/hang out with his Dad.
Insta-sleep in the "Captain Adorable" shirt Grandpa Paul picked out for baby Paul.  Grandpa Paul has a lot thicker hair than balding Baby Paul:)
He's been rolling tummy to back for a while now.

Paul's  cute "12 month" dino hoodie.  McKay calls him "Little Buddha" sometimes.
Yay smiles!  They are still kind of rare, but they melt my heart every time!  In this picture he looks like he's running/flying through the clouds. The perfect backdrop was a happy accident. Blankets from Grandma make great backdrops.

Representing "State".  According to sellers, that tiny logo amazingly multiples the value of a onesie by like 30, making them cost more than McKay's NCSU sweatshirt. Thankfully our sweet neighbor and friend Christine gave this cute onesie to us so Paul can look like a football coach:)  I loove great hand-me-downs!
Thankful to get a family picture at the ward party. When I sat down for a haircut from my friend Michelle, I told her I'd like either a trim or basically whatever she thought would look good as long as it could fit into a ponytail and was low maintenance since I have no skills/patience for hair, and that when I've gotten the guts to ask for a short cut, the people who've cut it never went as short as I wanted. I like it. Thanks Michelle!
Our first Christmas tree;)  Paul is the big gift under the tree.
