Yesterday was my first half marathon (13.1 miles). I think it was my first time running 10 miles. The only other race I've paid for is a tri. Some of my neighbors and I made pancakes in a hotel room and woke up at 4:30 to take school buses to the start. It was nice to run the canyon without cars whizzing by. My time was 1:56:21, so about 9 min. per mile. It was pretty easy... until the last maybe 4 miles. I am now quite sore. I would recommend it and do it again, but start training earlier. I want to cycle and trail run to be kinder to my knees.
I'm excited we have some new professors who are adjuncts because they work full-time as clinicians. This is our pediatric semester.
Today was my first time teaching the women I go to church with in Relief Society. I was nervous, but I learned a lot while preparing the lesson. Conference talks always seem like the best talk ever when I am trying to learn them well enough to teach about them.
McKay has rocked this summer with his first garden. It's been fun to have the vegetables from it.
