Another week closer to Thanksgiving break!

Sunday, Oct 25 ‘09

We played soccer again yesterday- indoor this time.

There is a bike shop on campus called “Aggie Blue Bikes.”   I went to a maintenance clinic and was one of only 3 people to come learn.  I had never been in the shop before but I want to go more.  I went on a normal business day and one of the workers helped me replace a brake cable and tighten the bearings on the front wheel, and welcomed me to come back and get help fixing the other things the bike needs.  They had me pay for the cable ( $1) and that was all for almost an hour of help.  I guess it’s run by grants and they don’t really sell parts so they don’t compete with other bike shops around.

Yesterday I went to a famly’s house in our ward to help make apple cider.  The had a cool set up in their yard and I cut apples with a bunch of people and got to know some people in the ward better.  Friday night I helped them pick apples from an orchard that smelled like mint, we picked past dark.  Elder Quentin Cook of the twelve apostles grew up in this ward.

My brother Josh visited us from Hawaii!   He is applying for a teaching job at USU.  I had a 7:30 a.m. class (maybe 4:30 a.m. Hawaii time?) and I think I was quiet enough while I was grabbing breakfast to not wake him up, and I went to open the door to leave and BOOM!  I had forgotten about the chain lock on the door and of course woke  him up.  I’ve done it a couple times before.

McKay is, as always, staying busy working hard in school and his job.
